Confidence what a broad theme, between self-confidence and trust towards others.
Today we will talk about trust in its entirety and especially in the sport we love so much.

Self-confidence.

Self-confidence, yet a simple concept since it’s about just believing in our abilities and ourselves. It’s not something innate, it works. You will find lots of exercises and more or less interesting talk with your friend Google or your friend Ecosia.

Without self-confidence, it is difficult to go to others, to undertake, in short, just to move forward. Imagine not having any confidence in you anymore and we’re riding you on a big beast of 500kg that you’re going to have to deal with. You see the problem?
A minimum of self-confidence is necessary to set foot in the stirrup whether it is to hoist you on your mount or start a project.

I had already written on the subject when to legitimacy so I’m not going to spread too much about it there.

Now that you have a little confidence in your abilities, riding is a solitary sport that is practiced at 2.

Trust someone else.

This someone else in our equestrian world is the horse. Or just be happy with the hobby-horsing (the Stick horse).

You have to indulge your horse and sometimes admit that he knows where he is going, ie trust him. (Captain Obvious The return)

No, you can’t always trust him. Let go of the reins because you’re lost and say « get in the stable! » Spoiler alert: It doesn’t work, I tried.

Trust in your horse It also works, sometimes it takes time, eating sand and starting over.
Work on foot and for me the base. Learn to listen to your horse and understand it, everything will be better.

Otherwise you still have the confidence in your teacher, your mentor, your girlfriend. (etc etc.)

You also knew this ball in the belly because the monitor you gave Morice * The Black beast of all the Riders of the club. The monitor that mounts the bars more than usual. Anyway, you know, all the little mono stuff.
If he gave you this horse, it’s because he thinks you can do it and it will make you progress. Or he doesn’t like your head at all and I advise you to change teachers because it’s not a good thing.

Horseback riding cannot be done without trust, because we put our lives between the hooves of our mount. That is why you cannot legally give a riding class without a diploma. Like football or water polo or you need a self-confidence, your teammates and your coach but or normally no one will leave life after training.

The horse learns to the rider and the rider learns to the horse, it is an exchange. Not a pure and simple domination

Self-confidence has nothing to do with the questioning that for me is more than necessary also in our sport.

This article was written as part of the cavalcade of blogs, doing a search on the blog you will see that we participate from time to time.  The theme of this month was the confidence (Captain Obvious the return 2) it was hosted by Cavali’Erre and you can find the launch article here.

* I do not know a horse that is called Morice but it reminds me of « Maurice you ate all the Swiss Choco » and I thought it was funny. Then Morice and not Maurice because the horses is often a bit of a mess in the name. You can replace Morice by volcano, Patterson, Caramel, Biscuit, Pearl etc. If you know a Morice, I want to know!
